This is our selection of the most influential Haitians under 30 in 2022. Some of these 30 currently live in Haiti, others abroad. These 30 have pursued careers in a variety of arenas, including sports, communications, music, and science, and are good examples of who inspires us.
Melchie Dalle Dumornay: The 19-year-old international female soccer player, she received the NXGN Award as the most productive player from Goal.com on March 22. On May 3, she was nominated in France as the best female talent of the 2022 season. On May 18, she was one of three FFCF-D1 Arkema nominees for the Best Hope Award. On May 26, she was ranked sixth on ESPN’s list of the best U21 athletes worldwide. On June 1 of the same year, she won the U19 competition with Reims, scoring eight goals in four matches and finishing as the top scorer. On July 19, she was named the youngest U21 player in the CONCACAF Women’s Championship and became the first classified Haitian player to be included in the CONCACAF Women’s Tournament.
Deborah Henristal: The 20-year-old singer was the voice behind the evangelical album “Quel est cet amour” (What Kind of Love Is This?). She is known for her influence on “The Voice” in the Dominican Republic. She watched the show in 2012 as a nine-year-old. Henristal won the fourth edition of the “Soleil d’Ete” (Summer Sun) competition and has produced several singles and collaborations, including “Leve piwo,” “Obsede,” and “Selman kwè,” to name a few.
Kerry Norbrun: The 27-year-old digital marketer, investor, and radio host is a physician and social media influencer. He uses his medical knowledge to advocate for preventative healthcare on social media. Norbrun has 275,000 followers and regularly shares helpful articles. Some call him Kerry Norbrun or Carry-Ry. His work in preventative medicine is widely recognized and has received numerous awards, including the “Kwape Kowonaviris” (Fight Against Covid-19) Award from ANGAJMAN. In 2022, he won the JCI Toyp in the Medicine category, organized by the Young Chamber International (JCI).
Marx Stanley Léveillé: The 26-year-old from Port-de-Paix, a passionate journalist at Radio Sans Fin, puts his skills as a writer, presenter, and cameraman at the service of the Haitian community. The talented journalist was the first winner of the 2022 Young Journalist Award in the Audiovisual category in Haiti with a report titled “The Leisure Industry Strangled by Gang Wars in Martissant.”
Stanley Deronette: The 28-year-old singer of the Evazyon Mizik label, known as Stan, has captured the hearts of Haitian music lovers with his EP “BLCKNWHT.” The song evokes emotions in his fans and inspires them to find love with his latest release, “M Pare.” The most inspiring insights into the singer’s story come from his 18-day detention in the National Penitentiary. The music video, featuring his melodic vocals, has been viewed over 1.8 million times on YouTube.
Frantzdy Pierrot: The 27-year-old Haitian professional footballer currently plays for French second division club Guimgamp and was a standout player for the Haitian football team “Les Grenadiers.” He scored five goals and helped the Haitian club reach the group stage. He also played as a striker for Israeli first division club Maccabi Haifa. After Donald Guerrier, Wagneau Eloi, and Reginald Goreux, he is the fourth Haitian player to play in this Champions League. He studied criminology at Northeastern University in Boston, USA.
Michaël Formulus: The 28-year-old communications expert is deeply committed to promoting arts and culture in the Caribbean. Since 2022, he has worked part-time as director of the cultural association “Sol Scène,” which, together with national and international stakeholders, launched a binational mapping project. For six years, Formulus worked as a communications manager and project leader for “4 Chemins” and as an assistant at the international festival “A4C.” He participated in several projects for the social reintegration of former female prisoners, in the lobbying work of “Onu-Femmes,” and finally with “Lawyers Without Borders” in Canada. His work is reflected in several cultural outreach projects in many departments, including the North, Northeast, West, and Grand-Sud. For two years, the spice company “Nouka,” which he founded, has been supplying most supermarkets with chocolate and spice powder.
Andy Vibert: The 28-year-old from Petit-Goâve is a role model for Haiti’s younger generation and is fully committed to improving their living conditions. As a digital engineer, he promotes Haitian culture, particularly its cuisine. He studied communication sciences and specializes in leadership workshops, both in personal and collective development. He is the founder and coordinator of the non-profit socio-cultural association “Leaders de Demain” (The Leaders of Tomorrow). He shares inspiring stories on his website, “Les Aventures d’Andy.” He is also involved in projects such as “Haitian Paradise,” “Konbit Bibliyotk Site Solèy,” and many other community activities.
Michaëlle Parison: The 26-year-old economist, agricultural entrepreneur, and member of the Haitian Business Association is particularly active on social media (Twitter), where she disseminates and disseminates information on Haiti’s economic situation. She criticizes the practices of the Haitian authorities and their erratic decisions in their political dealings with other countries.
Alexis Fortuné: The winner of “Suiv Tras Christopher Laroche”, born in 1996, is one of 68 artists who participated in the competition organized by Maghaiti Net. With his immense talent, the singer expressed his rejection of the social situation of the Haitian people through his songs. He offered solutions that were a prerequisite for participation in the competition. He received a check for 300,000 gourdes and later sang the winning song along Christopher Laroche and the two other winners.
