Rising from the rubble is the title of the very first book written by the young Haitian Williamson Sintyl who meticulously describes his story during the earthquake of January 12, 2010 in order to inspire the best in his readers.
12 years after spending over 28 hours under the rubble of a three (3) story orphanage during the earthquake of January 12, 2010, young Williamson Sintyl is making a comeback to tell the story that allowed him to find meaning in his life to become the man he is today: a source of motivation for the younger generation, not only in Haiti but around the world.
“Rising from the rubble, which means rising from your circumstances, is a way to become a winner, because each human being has his own rubble, whether in personal or professional life” explains Williamson. “The reason that led me to choose this title” he says.
Is because at some point in my life, I was under the physical and mental rubble. Now, I can say that I am no longer under the rubble, that’s why I would so love to inspire others through my story.
In this book, the author talks about his journey from Haiti and his arrival in the United States, he shares principles that can help others to come out from under their own rubble so that they can believe in themselves and subsequently achieve their goals.
The main objective of this book is to help others discover their dream, their mission, their best version of themselves so that they can become victors in life.
“This book will help others understand that if Williamson had the ability to overcome all the hardships in his life to be where he is today, they too can do it“, says the author.
When Asked about the choice of English as the title of this book, Williamson explains that this choice is purely strategic given that English is a global and commercial language.
“Knowing that there is an incalculable number of Haitians living in the diaspora who express themselves perfectly in English, it is a well-considered choice“, explains the author who promises that very soon the book will be available in Creole, French, Spanish and other foreign languages.
Without hiding anything from us, Williamson tells us that the challenges were daunting when writing this book.
“It took me over two (2) years to write the book, there are people who started to help me but who abandoned me along the way but as a fighter who never gives up, I continued on my path as I had planned because I knew that it would not be easy to write a book which has the mission to inspire others. At one point, I burst into tears while telling my story, this book allowed me to express feelings that were hiding in me, it’s a kind of therapy that allowed me to heal myself“, confides the author.
At the moment “Rising from the Rubble written by Williamson Sintyl is available on Amazon, but in the coming months it will be available on other platforms. Regarding sales, the author informs that very soon it will be all over the country of Haiti.
“Not too long, I will be in Haiti signing books and selling them all over the place. Haiti is my country, it inspires me on a daily basis”.
The author reveals to us that “Rising from the rubble” is only the beginning of his great adventure as a writer, as he is currently working on another book which concerns the principles of becoming a Good Haitian Dad.
In Haitian culture, some fathers are famous for not finding the right formula for raising their children, which subsequently hinders the development of the child in society, explains the author who is also the father of three children.
Williamson Sintyl is this young Haitian who does everything through his actions to inspire the best in others either by creating his non-profit organization called ARISE PROJECT FOR HUMANITY, who works with more than 7000 young people through its mentoring program in over 79 communities across Haiti.
By winning the mars shot contest in 2020 features the comedian Kevin Hart which will allowed him to provide Haiti with the largest mentoring center in the Caribbean and more… He is also a certified life coach in personal development with a view to further helping women and men in our society. He founded the iKonèk Life Coaching Program to help connect young people, students and emerging leaders to their purpose in life.
